Pip value calculator
Enter a currency pair, lot size, and contract size. If your account currency is not the quote currency, add a conversion rate yourself. This page does not fetch market prices.
What pip value means
A pip is a small price increment on a forex pair. Pip value is how much one of those increments is worth for a given position, usually in the account currency. It depends on pip size, how many units you hold, and — when needed — a conversion into the account currency.
How to use this calculator
Pick an example pair or type base and quote codes. Set lot size and contract size. Keep or edit the suggested pip size. If the account currency differs from the quote currency, enter a conversion rate. Press Calculate. The result is only as good as the numbers you typed.
What the inputs mean
Lot size times contract size is position size in units. Pip size is the increment you treat as one pip (often 0.0001, or 0.01 when the quote is JPY). The conversion rate is a number you supply so quote-currency pip value can be shown in the account currency. Example pairs are illustrations, not live instruments.
How to read the result
The headline figure is the value of 1 pip in the account currency. The formula list shows the path used: units, quote-currency pip value, then conversion if required. Treat an equals sign as exact for your inputs. An approximation mark means a conversion rate was applied.
Limits
This calculator is for forex currency pairs only. Do not reuse the same path for gold, index CFDs, crypto CFDs, or oil. Contract size is not the same at every broker. The conversion field is never a live quote.
