How to use an XM demo account

A demo login is a practice room with simulated funds. It is not a cheaper live account and it does not prove a method will hold when money is real. Use it to learn buttons and order tickets, not to score yourself.

What the demo is for

Demo exists so you can press the platform without sending a payment. Charts, tickets, and position lists should feel familiar before you open a live path.

It is not a contest and not a trial of XM’s current live prices. Spreads, fills, and stops on demo can differ from a funded account.

It is not interchangeable with a live login

Creating demo does not open a live account. Creating live does not give you demo automatically. If you later want to fund, you still need the live path and any review XM applies then.

Start the demo from the official site

Look for the demo entry XM shows on its own site or member area. Complete only the fields on that form. Then open the platform they attach to that demo — web, MT4, or MT5 — with the server and login they display.

Practise the ticket, not a score

Place a market order, a pending order, and a stop or limit if the ticket offers them. Close the position from the same list you opened it. Note how the platform labels profit and loss in demo units.

Do not treat a green demo day as evidence you should send money. Reset or expire behaviour is set by XM, not by this page.

Before you switch to live money

Confirm you can log into the member area and the terminal separately. Read the risk notice on the live path. Size and product availability on live follow that account, not your demo balance.

When the buttons are familiar, use the MT4 or MT5 pages for the terminal, or start-trading if you are moving to a live path.

Common questions

Does a good demo result mean I will profit live?

No. Demo fills and costs can differ. Live trading can lose money.

Can I deposit into the demo?

Demo uses simulated funds. Funding belongs to a live account if XM offers one to you.

Which platform should I attach to demo?

Use the one XM shows for that demo login. MT4 and MT5 are covered on their own pages.

I only wanted demo. Did I open live by mistake?

Check the account list in the member area. Labels differ. Do not send money until you know which login you are in.
